I am generally an easy going person. It takes a lot to get me upset. I like to be around people, although I am generally quiet until I get to know the crowd.

I have a lot of strong convictions that stem from my belief in the inerrancy of God's word - the Bible. Some of them are unusual. I don't cram them down other peoples' throats, but I am always willing to talk about them and I try to live by my personal beliefs. I don't need friends to agree with me much at all about my personal beliefs. I will treat you respectfully even if we are exact opposites. I actually have a very good friend that is like that. Don't be offended if I'm vocal about what I believe. However, it would be nice to share those beliefs with a girlfriend or hopeful wife someday.

I enjoy talking about Jesus, politics and life in general. I love being outdoors, hiking, kayaking, swimming, camping, biking, reading (haven't done a lot of fun reading while in college), watching a good movie, lan parties (not really very geeky though), and being with people I know and love. I recently took up photography as a hobby. So far I've been shooting quite a bit of nature shots up at Rib Mountain with my pup by my side. As I mentioned before, another passion of mine is camping and being outdoors. Our family has owned a camper in a campsite in Tomahawk for about 12 years and I have loved every minute of it. I live in the perfect location! My home is surrounded by trees. When the trees are leafed out, I can't see any other buildings at all. I'm off a dead end road, so it's very quiet and peaceful. I see deer and wild turkeys often, and have seen a coyote and a porcupine. My dogs enjoy the woods and chasing the turkeys.

And yet I'm only a ten minute drive from downtown Wausau, which boasts an amazing performing arts scene, a small but vibrant art museum and even some decent restaurants. The Wisconsin river runs through town, and has a world-class whitewater kayak course. It's fun to watch all the different kayak races. One of these days I may try it myself, tho I haven't yet.

I work a few hours a week with my UU church. For the last several years we've hosted Tibetan Buddhist teachers several times a year. Much to my surprise, I've become very interested in Buddhism. The Tibetan Buddhist teachers I've met seem so happy, peaceful and content. I want more of that in my life, and have been reading texts, attending teachings and meditating for the last few years. I'm calmer and more content because of it.

Last summer I had the opportunity to see/hear His Holiness the Dalai Lama in person, in this huge stadium. It was fascinating and odd at the same time. Guess I was expecting some bit of incisive wisdom to suddenly illuminate my life. No such luck, but I didn't really think that would happen. It was amazing to watch this very famous human chat with a room filled with literally thousands of folks.

I'm an empty nester, though my oldest son has moved back to the Wausau area. My younger son is at school in Santa Barbara, CA and doing splendidly. I'm hoping to visit him sometime in the near future. I was out there last year and had a BLAST!

I also play with a string quartet (or sometimes a trio, depending on who's available). We play weddings, dinner parties and the like. It's tons of fun and even brings in a few bucks here and there. I love Celtic music, and play some fiddle tunes myself. I'd love to have a Celtic music jam around here, but no luck yet.

I've been divorced for a gadzillion years and am pretty used to being on my own. Still, it would be nice to find someone special to share my life. Who knows what will happen next? Anything is possible. We never know what life has in store for us, just around the next bend.

I am just starting to date again. Friends would describe me as kind, funny, spunky. I have a passion for animals. Currently I have two parrots. Just moved to Wausau area and looking to meet new people.

I think I am a fairly spontaneous and out going individual, who can come off as over bearing at times. I speak my mind as often as possible and I consider myself fairly blunt. I have some great friends, who help me have even greater times. I have a large family, and my cousin is my best friend. A loner by nature; when I'm in a situation where a group of people ask me to go out with them, I usually say, no thanks. But when I think that bowling, pizza, the movies, ect... could be fun with a group of people, no one's asking. Oh well, better off anyways. Always a loner. But it's not all bad. I do have many acquaintances. My true friends may be few, but we'll be friends to the end.

Okay, there's one place where I feel I truely belong. It's my summer job; for the past 4 summers I've worked at two summer camps in Eagle River, Wisconsin. During my time there, we've had staff from France, England, Portugal, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Russia, and probably a few other countries that I can't think of at the moment. Since we're stuck in the middle of the woods with little to do, we all usually grow close. It's like I don't feel like I belong unless I'm surrounded by people who are different from me.

About me? Well, I like playing sports, especially golf and volleyball. I also enjoy outdoor activities including hiking and fishing. I love Packer football. On the side, I play in a band called The Narrators. We recently released our first CD of original songs.
